The Versicle
O LORD, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
Make haste, O God, to deliver me.
Make haste to help me, O Lord.
GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
As it was in the beginnig, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Hallelujah.
The Cofession of Sins
O LORD God our Father, we draw near with a true heart, and confess our sins, beseeching You, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to grant us forgiveness.
Our help is in the Name of the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord.
And You forgive the iniquity of my sin.
ALMIGHTY God, our Maker and Redeemer, we poor sinners confess unto You that we are by nature sinful and unclean and that we have sinned
against You by thought, word, and deed. Wherefore we flee for refuge to Your infinite mercy, seeking and imploring Your grace, for the sake
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(adapted from Luther's Small Catechism explanations for the Ten Commandments)
Forgive us Father when we don't love and trust You above all things.
Forgive us when we use Your name to curse, swear, demand favors, lie, and deceive. Forgive us when we don't call upon You in every time of need, pray to You, praise You, or give thanks to You.
Forgive us when we neglect Your Word and the preaching of the same. Forgive us when we don't deem Your Word holy and gladly hear and learn it.
Forgive us when we neglect and ignore our parents and disregard those in authority over us. Forgive us when we provoke them to anger. Forgive us when we don't honor, serve, obey, love, and esteem them.
Forgive us when we don't uphold the holiness of life, when we endanger the lives of those around us, or when we cause them harm. Forgive us when we don't help and befriend those around us in every necessity of life.
Forgive us when we don't lead chaste and pure lives in word and deed and when we don't love and honor our spouses and/or uphold Your value and institution of marriage.
Forgive us when we rob anyone of his or her money or property or bring them into our possession by dishonest trade. Forgive us when we deal in shoddy wares. Forgive us when we don't help improve and protect the income and property of those around us.
Forgive us when we tell lies about anyone or betray, slander, or defame them. Forgive us when we don't apologize for those around us, speak well of them, and interpret charitably all that they do.
Forgive us when we seek by craftiness to gain possession of others' inheritance or home or when we seek to obtain them under pretext of legal right. Forgive us when we are not of service to help others keep what is theirs.
Forgive our lustful desires. Forgive us for wanting to possess the things that belong to others. Forgive us for not encouraging spouses to stay faithful and for not helping others keep all that belongs to them.
O most merciful God, who has given Your Only-begotten Son to die for us, have mercy upon us, and for His sake grant us remission of all
our sins; and by Your Holy Spirit, increase in us true knowledge of You, and of Your will, and true obedience to Your Word, that by Your
grace we may come to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Absolution
Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, has had mercy upon us, and has given His only Son to die for us, and for His sake forgives us all our sins.
To them that believe on His name, He gives the power to become the sons of God and bestows on them His Holy Spirit. He that believes and is
baptized shall be saved. Grant this, O Lord, unto us all. Amen.

The Canticle
Te Deum Laudamus
We praise You, O God.
We acknowledge You to be the Lord.
All the earth worships You, the Father everlasting.
To You all Angels cry aloud:
The heavens, and all the powers therein.
To You Cherubim and Saraphim continually do cry,
Holy, Holy, Holy: Lord God of Sabaoth;
Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty of Your Glory.
The glorious company of the Apostles praise You.
The goodly fellowship of the Prophets praise You.
The noble army of Martyrs praise You.
The Holy Church throughout all the world does acknowledge You:
The Father of an infinite Majesty;
Your adorable, true, and only Son;
Also the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.
You are the King of Glory, O Christ.
You are the everlasting Son of the Father.
When You took upon Yourself to deliver man
You humbled Yourself to be born of a Virgin.
When You had overcome the shaprness of death
You openned the kingdom of heaven to all believers.
You sit at the right hand of God
In the glory of the Father.
We believe that You will come to be our Judge.
We therefore pray, help Your servants
Whom You have redeemed with Your precious blood.
Make them to be numbered with Your saints
In the glory everlasting.
O Lord, save Your people:
And bless Your heritage.
Govern them:
And lift them up forever.
Day by day we magnify You.
And we worship Your name,
Ever, world without end.
Vouchsafe, O Lord
To keep us this day without sin.
O Lord, have mercy upon us:
Have mercy upon us.
O Lord, Let Your mercy be upon us
As our trust is in You.
O Lord, in You have I trusted:
Let me never be confounded.
or
Benedictus
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel:
For He has visited and redeemed His people;
And has raised up a horn of salvation for us
In the house of His servant David;
As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets
Which have been since the world began;
That we should be saved from our enemies
And from the hand of all that hate us;
To perform the mercy promised to our fathers
And to remember His holy covenant;
The oath which He swore to our father Abraham
That He would grant unto us:
That we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies
Might serve Him without fear,
In holiness and righteousness before Him
All the days of our life.
And you, child, shall be called the prophet of the Highest:
And you shall go before the face of the Lord to perpare His ways;
To give knowledge of salvation to His people
By the remission of their sins
Through the tender mercy of our God.
Whereby the Dayspring from on high has visited us;
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death:
To guide our feet into the way of peace.
GLORY be to the Father and to the Son
And to the Holy Spirit;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be:
World without end. Amen.
The Morning Sufferages
LORD, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Born of the Virgin Mary; Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And is seated on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From where he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit; The holy Christian Church, the Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body; And the Life everlasting.
Amen.
Unto You have I cried, O LORD:
And in the morning shall my prayer come before You.
Let my mouth be filled with Your praise:
And with Your honor all the day.
O Lord, hide Your face from my sins:
And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me, O God, a clean heart:
And renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not way from Your presence:
And take not Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation:
And uphold me with Your free Spirit.
Vouchsafe, O Lord, this day:
To keep us without sin.
Have mercy upon us, O Lord:
Have mercy upon us.
O Lord, let Your mercy be upon us:
As our trust is in You.
Hear my prayer, O Lord:
And let my cry come unto You.
O Lord, be with us.
The Prayer
ALMIGHTY and most Merciful God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ: We give You thanks for all Your goodness and tender mercies, especially for the gift of Your dear Son, and for the revelation of Your will and grace; and we beseech You so to implant Your Word in us, that, in good and honest hearts, we may keep it, and bring forth fruit by patient continuance in well doing.
Most heartily we beseech You so to rule and govern Your Church universal, that it may be preserved in the pure doctrine of Your saving Word, whereby faith toward You may be strengthened, and charity increased in us toward all.
Send forth Your light and Your truth unto the uttermost parts of the earth. Raise up faithful pastors and missionaries to preach the Gospel in our own land and to all nations; and guide, protect, and prosper them in all their labors.
Bless, we pray, the institutions of the Church; its colleges, its seminaries, and all its schools; that they may send forth men and women to serve You, in the Ministry of the Word, the Ministry of Mercy, and all the walks of life.
Let the light of Your Word ever shine within our homes. Keep the children of the Church in the covenant which You made with them in Holy Baptism; and grant all parents grace to bring them up in faith toward You and in obedience to Your will.
Grant also health and prosperity to all that are in authority, especially to the President and Congress of the United States, the Governor and Legislature of this State, and to all our Judges and Magistrates; and endue them with grace to rule after Your good pleasure, to the maintenance of righteousness, and to the hindrance and punishment of wickedness, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, in all godliness and honesty.
All who are in trouble, want, sickness, anguish of labor, peril of death, or any other adversity, especially those who are in suffering for Your Name and for Your truth's sake, comfort, O God, with Your Holy Spirit, that they may receive and acknowledge their afflictions as the manifestation of Your fatherly will.
And although we have deserved Your righteous wrath and manifold punishments, yet, we entreat You, O most Merciful Father, remember not the sins of our youth, nor our many transgressions; but out of Your unspeakable goodness, grace and mercy, defend us from all harm and danger of body and soul. Preserve us from false and pernicious doctrine, from war and bloodshed, from plague and pestilence, from all calamity by fire and water, from hail and tempest, from failure of harvest and from famine, from anguish of heart and despair of Your mercy, and from an evil death. And in every time of trouble, show Yourself a very present Help, the Savior of all, and especially of them that believe.
Cause also the needful fruits of the earth to prosper, that we may enjoy them in due season. Give success to all lawful occupations on land and sea: to all pure arts and useful knowledge: and crown them with Your blessing.
These, and whatsoever other things You would have us ask of You, O God, vouchsafe unto us, for the sake of the bitter sufferings and death of Jesus Christ, Your only Son, our Lord and Savior, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, ever One God, world without end. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, Who art in heaven: Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven; Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil; For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
The Benediction
O Lord, bless us, and keep us.
O Lord, make Your face shine upon us, and be gracious unto us.
O Lord, lift up Your countenance upon us, and give us peace.
Amen.
